Take high-quality, square photographs with 6x6. Its a reminder of the old 6cm (or 2¼-inch)-square medium format that was so popular with both amateurs and professionals using 120, 220 and 620 roll film. Because it just looks so good.

Pros and cons of 6x6 app for iPhone and iPad

6x6 app good for

As of October update: Even better, if that is possible! Simple square format imaging at its best! This is a perfect, simple app. Not a lot of bells and whistles; just that great 6x6 format and a couple of useful options. Most of the time, this is my camera of choice. I would recommend this for anyone who, like me, has a history in medium format, or young photogs who want to learn a classic compositional mode.
I prefer 1:1 (square) format photos and this has quickly become my default camera app to use. It loads fast and has a clean, easy interface that lets you focus, choose settings (like flash and colour), and shoot quickly. The photos the app produces are clean and lifelike. This makes the photos perfect for both saving right away AND running through your favourite apps later for post-processing. I moved the default camera out of my iPhones dock and replaced it with 6x6. I cant recommend this app highly enough.
Its a great app I just wish there is a front facing camera setting
Great app , loved it before the iPhone 5 update, because when shooting at night, my blacks were black. Which we can turn on and off the light boost feature . Also which we can use the front cam feature .
Simple, fast, clean. I love it for square black and white. I use other apps for colour (even though this allows colour). Dont care for the fiddly slider switches (like BW <--> colour), but I leave it in BW so no issue.
Theres something special about the quality of images this camera app produces. I use the devs 6x7 app as well, and theres a certain richness to these images. Hard to explain, but easy to see. I encourage the developer to continue keeping this app great (as well as the 6x7 app.)

Some bad moments

Does just what it claims. Fast response by dev to add flash control and background processing. 2.02 - Once again the dev has responded quickly to fix a bug. Great app for square shooters!!
This one keeps getting better abd better. I love a square image and this one fills the bill. The contols are all there and the image quality is spot on.
And square. My go to photo app. Hopefully an update will include the use of the volume button as shutter release. It really is faster than the rest
I love using this app! One of my go to, primary camera apps. Great interface. The developer is VERY responsive and that is so much appreciated. Thanks for a great product!
Pretty good app. :) The only thing is that its the - not the + button for the shutter. :) But! Hey! Its external.
After many emails being sent back and forth between myself and Mike Hardaker, the creator of 6x6, he was able to troubleshoot the issue I was experiencing with 6x6 crashing at startup. His patience and great customer service made me wish all app developers were as awesome as he was in working with me. The app works great, I love the true square format, and its a breeze to use. Thank you Mike!!!
